M4 at the 2013 National Biodiesel Conference Expo.

In his efforts as the leading technical advisor for the National Biodiesel Board, Howell is in charge of the biodiesel industry’s effort to work with the engine and vehicle manufacturers to secure their support for B20 (20% biodiesel blended with 80% petrodiesel).

The vehicle showcase featured B20 approved vehicles from companies Howell has worked tirelessly with over the last 10 years, including a new 2013 Ford F250 Super Duty pickup, a Hino 195h Hybrid Truck and Thomas Built hybrid diesel school bus, and Chrysler’s new 2013 Ram Heavy Duty pickup. Over 80% of the diesel companies doing business in the US now support B20 in all or part of their product offerings–a dramatic improvement from just a few short years ago.
